Payment accounts are tied to humans because reversals, fines and fraud have to land on someone who exists. Stripe asks for the owners and directors the company really has. The exact threshold and the documents change, and this site will not invent the current percentage. The principle does not change: the convenient relative is not the owner.
Send the people who actually own and direct it.
What is actually moving
A failed identity check is often a mismatch between the form and the register, or a document that is cropped, expired, or for the wrong person. The remedy is the true person, clearly photographed. The remedy is not a nominee.
- The legal entity.
- The people who own it.
- The people who direct it.
- Documents for those people, not for a stand-in.
What people confuse it with
Nominee arrangements, bought companies, and “my cousin will be the director for the application” are how ordinary businesses become closed accounts. They also end a partnership assessment the moment they surface.
Not a reinstatement method
What to do with it
Match the register, the form, and the face.
- List the people who own and control the seller.
- Send the document Stripe named, for those people.
- If someone on the form has left, update the truth. Do not leave a former director because their ID scans cleanly.
- Disclose a prior restriction on those people. A new company does not wash it.
What this briefing is not
Questions on this note
What ownership percentage does Stripe require?
Use the figure in the form you were given. This site will not publish a number and call it permanent policy. Thresholds move.
Can an employee be listed to get through faster?
Only if they are actually an owner or director who should be listed. A stand-in is a false account.
