High-Value Payments, and Why Reviews Start

A sudden jump in ticket size is a different business from the one that was underwritten. The review is about that jump.

On this page

An account that processed fifty-pound orders and then takes a five-thousand-pound order has changed its risk, even if the product is honest. Reviews start because the loss on one dispute is now the size of a month. Splitting the payment into many small charges to stay under a imagined line is visible, and it looks like evasion.

Underwriting was for the book you had, not the book you hope for.
The history was small payments. The new charge is not.

What is actually moving

There is no ticket size on this page that is “safe”. Inventing one would send people to structure charges around a fiction. If your notice names a concern, answer that concern with the real customer, the real delivery, and the real reason the amount changed.

  • A new ticket size is a new risk.
  • One dispute can now dwarf the history.
  • Splitting charges conceals the size.
  • Another account conceals the seller.

What people confuse it with

Running the large order through another account “just this once” is the sharing problem at the exact moment the amount makes it expensive.

Not a reinstatement method

Nothing in this note switches a Stripe control off, quotes a secret threshold, or suggests another login as a remedy.

What to do with it

Explain the jump. Do not slice the charge to hide it.

  1. Say what the old typical amount was.
  2. Say what the new amount is and why.
  3. Show the customer and the fulfilment for the large one.
  4. Do not split it across cards or accounts to look smaller.

What this briefing is not

It is not legal, tax or card-scheme advice, and it is not Stripe’s policy. Your notice and Stripe’s terms control the account. RevRouters does not process payments, does not lift a freeze, and does not offer another business’s account as a remedy.

Questions on this note

What amount triggers a Stripe review?

This site will not publish one. Triggers depend on the account’s history. A number from a forum is not your notice.

Should I break a large invoice into smaller card payments?

Not to stay under a line you invented. If the customer is paying a large bill, the charge should look like that bill.
