What to Export from Stripe on the Day of a Restriction

Access can narrow after a restriction. Export the notice, the capabilities, the balance and the dispute list while you still can.

A restriction is the moment the file should be copied, because later screens can hide charges, payouts or team access. You are not stealing your own records. You are keeping the facts the notice will be compared against. What you must not copy is a password, a full card number, or an API secret.

The dashboard you can see today may not be the dashboard you can see next week.
Export evidence of the state. Do not export card numbers, and do not hand the login to anyone.

What is actually moving

The useful export is small: the notice, the capability state, the balance pots, the payout list, the dispute and warning counts, and a sample of recent charges that show descriptor and product. A full database dump you do not understand is worse than a one-page brief.

  • The notice.
  • Charges and payouts: on or off.
  • Pending, available, reserved, in transit.
  • Disputes and warnings.
  • The descriptor on a real charge.

What people confuse it with

Sending that export to a stranger who offers to “unfreeze” it is how businesses lose the account twice. RevRouters does not ask for the login. An assessment can take the summary. It cannot take the keys.

Not a reinstatement method

Nothing in this note switches a Stripe control off, quotes a secret threshold, or suggests another login as a remedy.

What to do with it

Copy the state, not the secrets.

  1. Save the notice and the date.
  2. Save capabilities, balance pots, and whether payouts are paused.
  3. Save dispute and refund totals you can actually see.
  4. Do not export full card numbers or share the password to get a second opinion.

What this briefing is not

It is not legal, tax or card-scheme advice, and it is not Stripe’s policy. Your notice and Stripe’s terms control the account. RevRouters does not process payments, does not lift a freeze, and does not offer another business’s account as a remedy.

Questions on this note

Should I give someone my Stripe login so they can export it?

No. Export it yourself. A login is the account. RevRouters will not ask for it, and neither should anyone who claims to lift a freeze.

What if I can no longer see the charges?

Save what you can still see, and say what you cannot. A gap is better than a reconstructed history.
