Going to Another Processor After a Termination

A termination has to be disclosed to the next processor. Hiding it is not a fresh start. A MATCH listing, if one exists, is a fact of its own.

On this page

When an account is terminated, the next honest step is a processor that is actually willing to underwrite this business, told the truth about why the last one stopped. That is a different project from a RevRouters partnership, which may still use the same processor and still needs permission. Neither project is “use my cousin’s login”.

You can leave. You cannot leave the history behind by omitting it.
The next application is underwritten against the last ending. Disclosure is the start, not the obstacle.

What is actually moving

MATCH, or the terminated merchant file, is not a synonym for every closure. Some closures are reported. Some are not. The notice either names it or it does not. Saying “I’m on MATCH” because a forum said all closures are listed is how a business talks itself into the wrong remedy. Saying “I’m definitely not” without reading the notice is the same mistake.

  • Termination: the relationship ended.
  • MATCH: a network report, only if it actually happened.
  • A new processor: a new underwriting, with the history.
  • Another person’s account: not a processor change.

What people confuse it with

A partnership assessment that is not told about the termination is not an assessment. It is a story. Send the notice.

Not a reinstatement method

Nothing in this note switches a Stripe control off, quotes a secret threshold, or suggests another login as a remedy.

What to do with it

Take the ending with you, in writing.

  1. Keep the termination notice.
  2. Do not open a lookalike account to skip the question.
  3. If you apply elsewhere, disclose the termination.
  4. If you ask RevRouters, disclose it here too. This does not place you, and it does not clear a list.

What this briefing is not

It is not legal, tax or card-scheme advice, and it is not Stripe’s policy. Your notice and Stripe’s terms control the account. RevRouters does not process payments, does not lift a freeze, and does not offer another business’s account as a remedy.

Questions on this note

Will another processor accept me after Stripe closes the account?

Some might, if the business and the disclosure support it. This site cannot know, and it is not that processor. Acceptance is not guaranteed.

Does RevRouters place terminated merchants?

It can assess a request. It does not place anyone, and it does not bypass a termination.
